Wythnos Cymraeg/Welsh Week

Shwmae Bawb👋

Very soon, we will be celebrating 'St David's Day' in school🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

March 1st has been a day of celebration in Wales since the 12th century and as well as St David as his achievements, it's a day to honour Wales as a whole. On this day (Friday March 1st 2024), we are encouraging pupils to wear patriotic clothing to school such as traditional Welsh costumes, Wales ruby/football tops or simply red clothing with a leek or daffodil. If you have any questions, please speak to your class teacher 🔴 🟢 ⚪️

You will find the PDF - 'Home Learning Project' on the school story on class dojo.

We are asking pupils from Buds and Blossoms up to Year 1-2 to compete in a 'DRESS THE LEEK' competition. You can dress a leek to look like your favourite Welsh celebrity! This could be anyone from iconic Welsh singers such as Tom Jones, to your favourite Swans or Wales Player. Please see examples in the attached PDF.

Pupils from Year 3-4 to Year 5-6 will be competing in a 'Create a 3D Welsh Money Box' competition. You can use anything from card, cotton wool, paint or glitter! Please see examples in the attached PDF.

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for both competitions and these will be announced on Friday 1st March 2024 🏆🏆🏆

Entries need to be given to your class teacher by Thursday 29th February so they can be judged.

Diolch bawb a phob lwc! Thank you everyone and good luck!
