Seahorses Flying Start is a childcare setting based within Clase Primary School. We provide childcare for children aged 2-3 years within and around the surrounding areas of Clase. The setting has recently been adapted, with the support of Welsh Government funding, the childcare room has been made bigger. CIW, (Childcare Inspectorate Wales).have confirmed that this funding has made it possible for us to care for a maximum number of 24 children per session.   

Seahorses Flying Start we aim to provide children and their families with high quality free childcare in a warm, friendly and stimulating environment. We can access support for children who have been identified as having an additional learning need, (ALN), through a referral process within Local Authority. If required, we also have access to an Education Psychologist and Additional Learning Needs Coordinator who identify if support is needed and what that support will look like within the setting, we also work closely with the Local Authority DESCo's.

Children have access to many areas of learning within the setting. These include a messy area, role play area, construction area, art and craft area, toy area, fine motor area, gross motor area, sensory area and outdoor play area, including 'Coed Clas' within the school grounds. In addition to these amazing spaces, with the support from Welsh Government and the Local Authority, we now have a sensory space for all children to access freely throughout the session. Seahorses Staff work closely with the Nursery teacher and staff to help provide a smooth transition to Nursery for you and your child, providing opportunities to engage with staff within their new environment.
